i never usually post anything in this area, but having tried the "webroot secureanywhere" suggestion after reading all the amazing reviews from pc mag, etc., i just had to say something. try this...1. install webroot trial (anti-virus is what i tried)2. once installed and running, download any "crack" rar from any newsgroup3. unzip the exe (which is guaranteed to be a trojan)result: nothing from webroot4. right click on the exe and select "scan using webroot"result: no virus, you're all good5. right click on the exe and scan using this new kaspersky, or malware bytes, or any other anti-virus scanner...result: major virus warning, delete now!, etc.to be clear: the crack example above is simply that. being a software author myself, i do not condone cracks or pirating of any kind.
the file is in order.
to marcdesbiens:that is becouse of overhead. it's normal thing since your isp measure parcels, and your software (du meter, net meter, net limiter, etc) measure only what's in parcels.to all:du meter is quite good program. i have used it for years and i was rather satisfied. but i do use now netmeter since it's free and have more or less all important functions as du meter
all went fine. registration, activation and login. site has a faq and forum. it's a beta. it seems nice.
very powerful program & i'm no artist.universalextractor can unpack this for use without installing it. appcompactor will crush it to 8.74mb
make a nice screenshot in seconds. very useful for screenshots made for web pages.
i'm on windows xp home, sp2.ats identified c:\program files\windows\system\exe2bin.exe as a trojan. a google search did reveal a trojan of that name but it also revealed a legimiate (obsolescent?)dos file with the same name. i followed the trail for exe2bin on mcafee but the registry did not contain any of the indicated entries. isn't it wonderful how similar shareware programs always turn up something when between them avg, adaware and spybot don't. ats was hogging 17% of cpu time. i decided i don't need it.
poor sound quality, bloated, & intrusive. if you can't work out how to organize your music without this i suppose it's a must have - but not for me. as it's main objective in life is to actually play music & it doesn't do that well for me it's useless. was ok 10 years ago but not now.the lite version is anything but lite & the standard doesn't play music well either.
nearly 400 meg for a burner? (crazy)why nero have continued to bloat out their software for many years eludes me.
