i've been using bonkenc for some time now, and i like it. this development version is really shaping up. it has more codecs and can handle everything i throw at it. now if there was a good freeware bonk player.

chrome needs to fix the double space issue with the menu and bookmarks. it needs to be a setting change, don't worry about tablets so much.

over the years i've tried different versions of this search tool, and have spent 3 or 4 hours trying to use it from different computers, and for different search scenarios. cons:> no built in fileviewer> only search by filename, and not file contents (no full text search!!)> doesn't search network shares.> ui very limited, and in my opinion basically unusable.> http/etp/ftp server functionality (wasted too much time trying to get this working properly on multiple servers and workstation). also this server is a *sizable* security hole (not a good idea to add a server into an application, unless you want malware and hackers getting in).> installs user data into c:\programs files\, which skirts development practices for vista, win7 and win8. > other issues: no autoupdate mechanism, esc closes the application (another bad development practice), etc.pros:> free (better search tools exist: google (ok), microsoft (ok- for searching lots of text files), locate32 (ok+), and mo-search (the only one i use every day) > options dialog provides lots of checkboxes (don't improve my search experience)> people seem to download this, and i surmise some like it (not sure why)every year or two i'll really spend time testing a bunch of desktop search tools. but (thus far) they all frustrate, and prevent me from finding what i need, and lack an integrated fileviewer, lack truly ranked results, and lack common search filtering capabilities. the only one i run on all my workstations and servers is mo-search (also free).

as i already use some pretty decent anti-malware this has never found anything amiss on any of my pc's - if you take the time to read the terms & conditions it's probably of more use to ms to have a bit of a snoop around your pc as anything, i can live with that though & seems harmless enough to me.btw although i don't use mse the detection rates are now pretty good.

i never could figure out what any other pm could do that outlook can't do better and i have tried them all i think. i do believe however that supporting beta software is important to the developer but paying .00 for something that i already have doesn't make sense to me. as for this program, it has a way to go and i would trade the pretty interface for useful functionality.

long time ago it was perfect software.now it turned into something crap (the best mms was nero 9 so far).compared to other mms (cyberlink, roxio) both are better than nero 11 mms:they are both much better programmed. and i believe other mms are better too :dnero prefers to add new shiny things instead of fixing reported bugs.whats the point to have latest soft with outstanding features that do not works?!the price of nero 11 mms is affordable, but in my opinion it would be a waste of money because you would buy other mms after nero 11 lmao ....plus technical support of nero is very poor: they simply ignores your reported issue instead of trying to reproduce it ... >.
